Language L.K.5.B
Demonstrate understanding of frequently occurring verbs and adjectives by relating them to their opposites (antonyms).
Okay, Mr. L.K.5.B. Not every adjective, and certainly not every verb, has a straight-up antonym. What's the opposite of running? Walking? Sitting? Running backward? Eating copious amounts of ice cream to make yourself feel better for not running? Nonetheless, antonyms can be a great way for students to help come to terms with unfamiliar words and test their current vocabulary knowledge, so don't overthink it too much.
