Power

Contrary to what that rambling bearded fellow screaming about the apocalypse told you, mortgage brokers are never going to rule the world. Despite handling the loans that may have, sort of, kind of, maybe wrecked the global economy in 2008, mortgage brokers were only the messenger. And remember, we don't shoot those.

As the liaison between two unaffiliated parties (the banks and the buyers), a broker wields almost no power at all; he or she simply delivers the needs of one party to the other and vice versa. While you certainly have the ability to help potential homeowners become actual homeowners, you're one of many, many people involved in the process...and often not a crucial one at that.

Sorry, chum, but the best you can hope to do as a professional middleman is to make a profit off the world. It's some other sap's job to rule it.
