Odds of Hanging On
Since almost all credentialed midwives are able to find employment already, midwives can expect to be employed for long stretches of time. It's not exactly the kind of career you fall out of, and as long as you remain board certified you're likely to find employment only gets better as your career continues.
Oh, and obviously, don't drop the baby. If you can't hang on to a child, you're not going to hang on to this job either.
