Turning magic into a full-time career may prove difficult. You may have to have a day job to pay bills. And by "day job," we're thinking of something more secure than renting a boat and heading out in search of buried treasure—although, admittedly, the title of pirate magician sounds really cool.

There are about as many magicians making a living with magic as there are actors making a living acting, but your odds are better as a magician because there are a lot fewer people actually trying. Not many people show up in Hollywood with a bag full of clothes and a pocket full of dreams hoping to become a magician.
