It's basic economics: when demand is high, no company is going to go looking for reasons to fire you. But people's lives are on the line, so if you're really just phoning it in every day, you'll eventually pay the price. As long as you do your job and can keep up with the demanding schedule (or cut it down to part-time if you want, you don't need to try to impress us), you'll be set.
