Typical Day

Beep. Beep.

"Hi, Mrs. Shlobovitz, find everything?"

"Yep."

Beep. Beep.

"Have a nice day."

Next.

Beep. Beep.

"Hi, (unknown person). Find everything okay? Great." Beep. Beep. "Have a nice day."

"Break in five on aisle four!"

Two Parliament cigs outside. Oh, the stress. Ah, the stress. Self-loathing: "Why, oh why, didn't I study in high school?" The five minutes are up. Back to it.

Beep. Beep.

"Hi, Mrs. Jones. Find everything okay? Great."  Beep. Beep. "Have a nice day."

And really...that's about it.

Day after day.

Week after week.

Year after year.

At least you're not cleaning up after Broadway theatre-goers.

Until one day, you decide to suck it up, go back to school, and get your degree. It may have been years since you opened a textbook, but…all it takes is a beep of faith.
