It's no secret that schooling is not needed to become a great boxer. In fact, if you are really serious about doing this as a career and you do have a degree, a lot of people in the boxing community will probably ask you why you didn't spend your time hitting people instead of the books.

What a professional boxer does need is physical and mental strength. An ideal candidate for this job would have many of the following desirable attributes:

  • Excellent vision
  • Quick, intuitive reflexes
  • Solid build
  • Fiercely competitive mentality
  • Charisma

Most of these things cannot be acquired through training, but if you're a little off target, you don't have to give up right away. The key is to go into the career with as few already-existing disadvantages as possible.
