Odds of Getting In

B&B ownership is currently on the rise, so there'll be some competition out there. One thing that can really help set your B&B apart from the start is having a solid marketing plan. These days, the most important thing is having a web presence that makes your inn look like a quaint, clean, and friendly place. (Hopefully it actually is all those things.)

Besides web and marketing savvy, it's totally crucial that you buy an inn in a place that people actually want to go to. People are much more likely to visit an inn near a white sand beach than they are to visit one near a swamp known for its particularly aggressive breed of venomous snake. Buying a place that's already some kind of historical landmark is also a good idea. People will pay for charm.
