Physical Danger

Physical Danger

You might not suspect it, but boy, are you in for some pain. You're going to be standing for a lot of hours at a time. Doesn't sound too bad? Maybe think about the fact that standing rigidly in one place is in some cases a documented form of torture.

You'll also be working with piping-hot, third-degree-burn-worthy ovens. You'll be carrying heavy sacks of flour, and operating lifting equipment. That's okay, you think. You'll be careful. But you aren't the only one in a bakery. All the other bakers are going to be carrying trays, platters, bowls, and so forth.

A bakery is basically a construction site, but instead of hard hats or reflective vests, you get soft, useless aprons. Sheesh, we're scared just thinking about it.

And if you have asthma or skin irritations, a sweaty, dusty bakery might not be the best place for you. Just sayin'.
