Bobby doesn’t fit into any of those categories, but he wants to come up with a clever way
- 00:22
to ask the love of his life, Kathy, to the prom. [Bobby stood in an empty school corridor]

Knowing that she is fascinated by anything with numbers, Bobby writes her a card and [Math problems flying around behind Kathy]
- 00:30
puts it on her desk before math class.
- 00:32
The card reads: “9x minus 7i greater than 3 times 3x minus 7u. [The equation being written out on the card]

Bobby.”

Kathy sits down in her seat as she usually does right when the bell rings…and opens [Kathy walking into class]

the card. [Kathy looks happy]
- 00:48
On the right side of the inequality, she distributes the 3 to the 3x minus 7u, leaving 9x minus [The right side is highlighted]
- 00:54
21 u on the right side.
- 00:56
Subtracting 9x from both sides, she gets negative 7i greater than negative 21 u.
- 01:02
Dividing both sides by a negative 1, she remembers to flip the inequality sign the other way… [The inequality sign flips sides]
- 01:08
…getting 7i less than 21 u.
- 01:12
She then divides both sides by 7, to get i <3

u.
- 01:18
“I heart you”…Kathy flips the card over, and reads the word, “Prom?”
- 01:25
She springs out of her seat and squeals, “YES YES YES!” [Kathy stood with her arms in the air]
- 01:28
Ah.
