Which expression is depicted by the number line?
- 00:06
And here are your potential answers...
- 00:10
Well, it's really all about knowing the distinction between greater than and greater
- 00:14
than OR EQUAL TO.

In this case, we can just derive our own equation to describe this line.
- 00:25
We'll start with the x, which is gonna live here on the line inside these two points.
- 00:29
And note that the points are described with filled-in circles - not empty ones.
- 00:34
The fact that the circles are filled in means that the points are greater than or equal
- 00:38
to... or less than or equal to.
- 00:41
So another little curve ball they throw at you - the 7/8 here is left of the 0... i.e.,
- 00:46
it's negative.
- 00:48
So x is gonna have to be greater than or equal to negative 7/8.
- 00:52
On the right we see the 1/8, which x is less than or equal to.
- 00:57
And the only one that works... is A.
