- Clay listens to the sound of static on the unnumbered B-side of the last tape.
- He's still in the rocket-ship trying to get a grip on everything he's heard. The wind relaxes him.
- Suddenly he hears Hannah's voice again. She's recorded something on this side.
- Her voice sounds warm as she says, "Thank you" (16.8).
