David Singer

Character Analysis

This is Alma's father, as you might suspect by the last name. He's originally from Israel. He finds a copy of The History of Love while traveling in Chile and gives it to Charlotte just a couple of weeks after they meet. It sounds like he was a pretty awesome guy, and his absence after an all-too-early death is a weighty presence (if that makes sense) in the novel.
