- The newspaper comes. Antoine is exposed. All victories of the Lake Windsor team are nullified, along with every record set by anyone on the team.
- Mr. Donnelly has also written an article defending Antoine's record, but it doesn't seem to help much.
- Paul's dad acts shocked about the news, and together with the coaches and other parents, decides to blame Antoine alone.
- But Paul argues with his dad, insisting that he knew Antoine wasn't from the neighborhood. His dad bows his head in defeat.
