Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge

John Fletcher, a contemporary of Shakespeare's, wrote a sequel play in response to Taming of the Shrew. The play is called The Woman's Prize or, The Tamer Tamed. It's about a guy who gets remarried after his wife dies and is given a dose of his own medicine by his new shrew-taming wife. You can check out the text (from the 1647 folio) here.

For the Trekkies: The Star Trek television series produced a show based on Taming of the Shrew. The idea: taming a shrewish woman can save the universe. Check it out on YouTube.
