The Pigman Chapter 15 Summary

  • Lorraine has to leave the scene, to avoid trouble with her mother, but John stays with Mr. Pignati's body.
  • He reflects on the sadness of life, and how he thinks that Lorraine doesn't understand him: "Didn't she know how sick to my stomach it made me feel to know it's possible to end your life with only a baboon to talk to?"
  • After the ambulance takes Mr. Pignati's body away, John finds Lorraine near the zoo entrance. She strikes out at him, yelling, "We murdered him!"
  • Lorraine calms down, and John reflects that they and Mr. Pignati had each trespassed onto each other's territory. There is no one else to blame anymore, John concludes.
