  • Qui-Gon and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, board the Trade Federation battle station as ambassadors in the peace negotiations.
  • After an attempt is made on their lives, they escape the battle station and head to the planet of Naboo.
  • There, Qui-Gon accidently saves the life of Jar Jar Binks. Jar Jar swears a life debt that Qui-Gon could probably do without.
  • Jar Jar takes Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to the Gungan city. There, Qui-Gon uses his Jedi mind trick to convince Boss Nass to give them transport to the Naboo capital.
  • A short jaunt through the planet's core, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan locate and save Queen Amidala and her court.
  • The Jedi join the others as they run the blockade and escape the planet.
  • The ship is forced to land on Tatooine due to a broken hyperdrive. Qui-Gon heads into Mos Espa to buy the parts they need.
  • At Watto's shop, he learns that Republic Credits are invalid currency on Tatooine. He must find another way to secure the parts.
  • Qui-Gon, Padmé, and Jar Jar are invited to stay at Anakin's house. There, Qui-Gon accepts Anakin's offer to win the money they need in the Bonta Eve race.

  • During the duel, Qui-Gon is stabbed by Darth Maul.
  • After Obi-Wan defeats Darth Maul, he tries to comfort his dying master. Qui-Gon's final wish is that Obi-Wan train Anakin as a Jedi, believing the boy is the chosen one who will bring balance to the Force.
