Midwinterblood Part 6, Chapter 9 Summary

  • Melle and Eirik were pretty freaked out by all this; they felt like a noose was tightening around their little throats. How long could they keep Tor away?
  • Every night, there were more Tor sightings and more animals killed. One was a hare. That was Melle's totem and she really didn't like the foreshadowing there.
  • A few days later, Eirik and Melle heard a scream in the main hall. There they saw Tor drinking the blood of a young girl; he stood up and pointed at them and said, "I want my children." Dude does not give up.
  • Their father rushed in and drove Tor away. Then he declared that everyone would sleep in the main hall that night—this would keep them all safe.
  • Nope. That same night, another child—a young boy—was killed right in his bed in the main hall. Holy crud.
