The Lorax Lines 219-232 Summary

The Fall of the House of Thneed

  • Obvious alert: without trees, the Once-lers can't make Thneeds. So the Once-ler's family departs, leaving him there with only the ruins of the town and the bossy little Lorax.
  • Not for long though. The Lorax "lift[s] himself by the seat of his pants" (229) and disappears in the air "through a hole in the smog" (232).
