Little Dorrit Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

PG

Sure, there's lots of illicit and otherwise taboo sex going on in this book, but come on, guys, it's a mainstream novel from the 19th century – it's not like Dickens is suddenly going to go all soft-core on us. But still, there were definitely some steamy shenanigans in the characters' pasts: Arthur's dad totally got it on with a hot dancer without being a hundred percent married to her and Miss Wade clearly had a fling with Gowan before he ditched her for Pet. And the novel doesn't back too far off giving us some pretty honest demonstrations of desire. Arthur really wants Pet. Pet clearly has the hots for Gowan. And Sparkler is just ridiculously lusting after Fanny. Considering that Pet and Fanny immediately get pregnant after being married... well – bada-bing bada-boom – we all know where babies come from, friends.
