You'd think there'd be more sex in this play—everything's there. Prostitutes! Unscrupulous friars! Enough dirty nun jokes to make a hardened Renaissance scholar blush! And yet. About the sexiest thing that happens in The Jew of Malta is Bellamira being exceedingly frank about her, ahem, current underemployment and her seduction of Ithamore. We're giving this one a PG-13 rating not so much for actual content as for the heavy amount of implication that goes on. And the dirty nun jokes.
