Chief Martin Brody

Brody is our guy—the everyman, the guy next door, your dad, etc. Of all the characters on screen, he's the one we get to know the best. Most of the movie is told from his perspective. We get to see his weaknesses and his failures as well as his strengths and triumphs. Whether he's in his PJs at home, fidgeting on the beach, or squeezing a few rounds from his revolver into the shark, there's never any doubt that we're rooting for Brody.
