Character Role Analysis

Henry Hill

Henry may not be the most upstanding citizen, but he's our main man and our entry point into the mob. Through his narration, we're granted VIP access into all of their schemes, double-crosses, and massive spaghetti dinners. Goodfellas' narrative charts Henry's rise and fall in the family, and as our protagonist, he's desperate to tell us his story in his own words—so much so that he breaks the fourth wall on the witness stand and gives us a subtle smirk before he disappears into the herd of schnooks in suburbia.
