John "Johnny" Grimes Timeline and Summary

John wakes up on his fourteenth birthday, goes back to sleep, then goes to get breakfast.
He cleans up the living room, then goes out with birthday money from his mom to see a movie.
When he gets home, John finds his brother Roy bleeding on the couch after a knife fight. He takes care of his little sister and tries to stay out of the way.
After John's dad slaps his mom and beats his brother, John is ticked off and goes off to church in a rage.
John helps Brother Elisha clean and set up for the evening service.
After Elisha is overcome by the spirit and starts speaking in tongues, John, too, is struck by the power of God and passes through a series of terrible visions before he comes out of it, saved.
John goes home with the church members and stands in the entrance of his home, staring at his father.
