To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time (Gather ye rosebuds) Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this poem?

PG

There isn't anything really steamy in this poem. Even though it's an encouragement to get married, it doesn't really seem that sexual – unless you count the possible double meaning of "dying" (see our "Line-by-Line Summary"), the discussion of being "warmer," and the potential pun on "marry" (referring to both marriage and fun, as in "merry"). If "To the Virgins" is sexual, it seems to be so in a very delicate, subtle way.
