Let's get one thing out of the way upfront: Michael starts the film as a grade-A butthead. But once he meets E.T., he transforms into Elliott's greatest ally—well, greatest human ally. He's a willing sidekick in all of his little brother's plans, whether it's rounding up junk to build an interplanetary communicator, sneaking E.T. out of the house, or even grand theft auto.
