• Reverend Mother tests Paul with the gom jabbar. She will literally kill him if he doesn't pass.
• Paul and his family move to the desert planet of Arrakis.
• The Harkonnen make an attempt of Paul's life, but Paul manages to evade it like it's no big deal.
• Paul and his father take a tour of the desert with Dr. Kynes, the planet ecologist. They learn all sorts of fun facts and rescue a bunch of guys from being worm food.
• Dr. Yueh betrays Paul's father but saves the lives of Paul and his mother, Jessica.
• Paul and Jessica are found by Dr. Kynes. Kynes agrees to help them by giving them an ornithopter so they can reach the Fremen.
• Paul and Jessica do indeed reach the Fremen and are welcomed into the tribe by the leader Stilgar.
• Jamis, a young but violent Fremen, challenges Paul to a duel to prove Jessica isn't the one of legend. Jamis didn't learn the lesson of never challenging the protagonist in his own novel and dies.
• Paul receives all of Jamis's possessions and his water. He is now a full member of the tribe and is given the tribe name Usul and the Fremen name Muad'Dib.
• Jessica performs the ceremony to become the Fremen Reverend Mother. Paul's there to watch.
• Paul and Chani proclaim their love for each other while high on the Water of Life.
• Two years pass, and we reconvene with Paul just as he is taking his final test of Fremen manhood, riding a worm. It's like a rodeo, only deadlier, due to the building-sized animals.
• Gurney Halleck accidently runs into his old friend Paul, now Duke. They share a happy reunion during which Gurney mistakes Jessica for a traitor and almost kills her. Ha, they'll laugh about that one day.
• Paul takes control of the Fremen and leads them against the Harkonnens in an epic war.
• With his Fremen army, Paul storms the capital.
• Fremen for the win.
• While in negotiations, Paul duels and kills Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. He then marries Irulan, the Emperor's eldest daughter, and becomes the most powerful man in the universe. He saves his love for Chani.
