Could you possibly doubt that Anne is our protagonist? Of course not.

She wrote the book and she's what the whole book is all about. She’s the one whose feelings and thoughts we become so familiar with and she’s the lens through which we see the rest of the world. Sure, she has personality flaws. But since she is our beloved protagonist; we only love her more because of her quirks.
