Character Role Analysis

Tadzio

A muse or a romantic interest doesn't usually have much in the way of a character—it's the job of a muse to be there for the protagonist. And being there is pretty much exactly what Tadzio does in Death in Venice. As we talk about in "Point of View," the narrator of Death in Venice doesn't seem too interested in what's going on in Tadzio's head. The way he is in the novella is pretty much however he appears to Aschenbach. Which, to be clear, is lovely.
