A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court Chapter 36 Summary

An Encounter in the Dark

  • The Yankee notices a wire running along the rooftops in London and takes heart in the fact that his changes are taking root.
  • He plans to escape by picking his lock, beating up the slave driver until no one can recognize him, switching clothes with the man, and taking the whole train to Camelot.
  • The Yankee steals a pin and shapes it into a lock pick, which he uses to free himself.
  • He attacks what he believes to be a guard in the dark, but it turns out to be an innocent passerby. Oops.
  • More zany mayhem ensues, until the Watch arrives to arrest them both.
