• Carrie gets her first period in the shower. Because they're all super awesome and understanding, all of the other girls throw tampons at her.
• As she's calming down, a light bulb explodes. Later, an ashtray flips off the assistant principal's table. Then, when Carrie leaves, she realizes that she knocked a boy of his bike... with her mind.
• But these telekinetic powers aren't all sunshine and roses. Just wait.
• Anyway, Carrie's Momma slaps her when she tells her what happened at school. See, Momma believes that periods = evil. Nice.
• Carrie spends a few days exercising her telekinetic powers, lifting hairbrushes and bureaus.
• Tommy Ross asks Carrie to the prom. She thinks it's a trick, but he sounds genuine, so she says yes anyway.
• Ever industrious, Carrie makes her own dress. And Tommy actually shows up on prom night.
• They have a great time at prom together. They're even nominated for Prom King and Queen.
• Tommy encourages them to vote for themselves, so they do.
• As luck'll have it: they win.
• Oh wait, that wasn't luck at all. This is all some dirty trick orchestrated by the school bullies.
• When Carrie is crowned, Chris Hargensen, one of the lead bullies, dumps a bucket of pig's blood on Carrie's head.
• Everyone laughs at her.
• Carrie goes all telekinetic and uses her powers to kill everyone at the prom.
• Then she blows up a few gas stations in town. Just for good measure, we guess.
• She staggers home and asks her Momma for help. Momma doesn't help her. But when has she ever?
• In fact, Momma stabs her, because she thinks Carrie is the devil. So Carrie kills her, too.
• Carrie then goes to the roadhouse where Chris Hargensen is staying and burns it down.
• Chris isn't in there, though. She and her boyfriend, Billy Nolan, are in Billy's car. Billy tries to run Carrie over, but she crashes the car with her mind.
• Finally, Carrie collapses and dies in the road.
• She feels guilty for killing her mother, even though she caused Carrie so much pain.
