Adeodatus

Character Analysis

Adeodatus is Augustine's son by his long-term mistress. He's very smart (for a sixteen year-old, ha) and is baptized at the same time as Augustine. But he dies young. Augustine says that he loves his son even though his existence is the result of his sin. He thinks that Adeodatus was so intelligent and good that his awesomeness outweighs the fact that he was born of sin.
