The Girl in the Plaid Bikini

Character Analysis

This is the first girl Sammy notices. He has both flattering and unflattering thoughts about her, some of which might strike readers as cruel. But don't we all think such thoughts in our heads? Sammy doesn't actually verbalize them. We think he pegs her wrong, though, when he sees her as a follower. After all, she doesn't hesitate to stand up to Lengel when he insults her and her friends.
