Annabelle Trice

Character Analysis

Annabelle is a character in the Cass Mastern subplot. Annabelle doesn't come off as a very nice person. When Cass first describes her she seems sympathetic, warm, and human. By the time her affair with Cass reaches it's tragic close she is dehumanized. When she realizes, through Phebe, that the slavery that surrounds her is itself kind of betrayal, she betrays Phebe to cover up her own shame.
