Alanna: The First Adventure Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

PG

We don't see much in the way of physical affection or sexy-times in this book, never fear. There are occasional allusions to sex (as when Mistress Cooper gives Alanna the "birds and the bees" talk), but we never even so much as see someone kissing. (Though there is a reference to Gary kissing a lady during a bet.)

There are also some references to sex work, as when Alanna first enters the city and sees how, among other things, "Women in tight dresses eyed men from doorways" (1.107). Later on, Alanna meets Rispah, a friend of George's who is identified as "the Queen of the ladies who follow the Rogue" (3.168)—which we're guessing is code for prostitutes. But it's enough that we don't need to worry.
