Shakespeare Words

Shakespearean, not stirred.

If Shakespeare wrote it, we've Shmooped it.

Gust

Invented in Titus Andronicus

Scatter'd by winds and high tempestuous gusts (5.3.70)

Originally a nautical word, the German word gustiz was a cold blast of wind described by sailors. Shakespeare knew you didn't need to be on a boat to feel a gust of wind, though.
