Context

This line is spoken on a TV commercial for Budweiser (2000).

During the Super Bowl, people are too drunk on terrible, cheap beer to remember what's actually funny and what's just annoying.

So they have to call their friends and ask them "Wassup?" in order to figure out. But everyone is too plastered to remember why they called in the first place, so they just go back to watching the game.

"Wassup" plagued the nation until 2000 when the boys visited a sushi restaurant, couldn't stop saying wasabi, and hopefully ate some bad blowfish. 


Also, someone in this commercial is named Dookie. We're just going to leave that there for you to think about.

Everywhere. 

Basically, every time someone said hello from 1998-2000, someone responded with "Wassup?" It was parodied endlessly, from Scary Movie to Star Wars.

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

"Wassup?" was funny for about 2 seconds, which means it's been about five hundred million seconds since it was funny, give or take a few million.
