The Conference Board
Categories: Education
The Conference Board is a non-profit research organization that helps out the businesses among us. The six branches of research that the CB wields are: corporate citizenship, corporate governance, economics, human resources, marketing/communications and strategy/planning. It provides relevant and helpful info on market health, management, and indices. For instance, the Consumer Confidence Index is highly cited in the business world as an economic indicator.
It was created in 1916 precisely for that reason: the public was losing confidence towards businesses, and the labor force was unhappy. The Conference Board, or CB, was made in the spirit of nonpartisanship to help the economy and society as a whole.
