Price Change

The magic formula: New minus Old all over Old.

The price last year of a dozen eggs was 3 bucks. This year, after The Great Mad Chicken Disease epidemic, prices went up to 5 bucks. How do you calculate the price change? New: $5; Old: $3. So that’s 5 - 3 = 2. Then put that 2 over the old (3). And yes, prices went up by 2/3, or 67%, from last year. That’s a lot to crow about.
