Funding Gap

A fancy way of saying that an organization or initiative doesn’t have enough money at that moment to do something.

When we as individuals don’t have enough money to pay for something we need all at once...college, a car, a house...we have a few options available to us. We can take out loans. We can sell stuff we don’t need anymore to try and build up capital. We can borrow money from people we know.

Businesses can bridge their funding gaps in similar ways. Another option private businesses have is to go public and open their organization to public funding through financial markets. Regardless, therein lies the funding gap. We need funds. We don't have them. Mind the gap.
