Determination Letter

Categories: Regulations, Tech

A!!! It's really determined to uh, make a statement there.

But alas, no. A real determination letter is not so passionate. In fact, it is issued by the least passionate, most emotion-sucking org on the planet: the IRS. They issue a determination letter to determine or claim whether or not a given employee's retirement plan is legal or compliant or accepted under their Employee Retirement Income Savings Act filings.

Like...whether a given amount of money can be taken from their paycheck, tax-deferred, to then be redeemed when they're fly fishing post-retirement.
