Credit Monitoring Service

A service that, uh...monitors your credit.

While the commercials for these services are super annoying, it's important to keep tabs on your credit score, as it can affect your ability to do many “adult things.”

No, you cannot just buy any house that your income will support. A Parks and Rec quote comes to mind that goes something like “we’ll probably just buy a house or a condo or something.” The character of Andy is definitely an example of someone with credit that’s deeply in the toilet.

In order to qualify for a mortgage loan, you have to have at least decent credit, depending on a variety of other factors. If you have racked up thousands of dollars of debt on your Sunglass Hut credit card to block out the haters, your credit score could really suffer, putting you in a terrible position for any big purchases that require a loan. A credit monitoring service will help you stay out of that situation.
