Coordination of Coverage
Categories: Insurance
For most of us, coordination of coverage comes into play when we look at things like children being covered by more than one health insurance plan. Or in the instance that you get rear-ended by a 16-year-old who was on her phone, and get a major case of whiplash.
Of course your health insurance will cover medical care, but chances are good that the 16-year-old’s auto insurance will cover it too.
Corporations face this situation as well, because they have so many insurance plans. Coordination of coverage shows them where their plans overlap, or don’t cover things they need covered.
