Commercial Output Policy (COP)

A type of broad insurance coverage that provides financial protection for products, both while they are being made and while they are being shipped.

Technically, the product combines a commercial property policy and a commercial inland marine policy. That last bit sounds like insurance for Great Lakes pirates, but it actually covers items shipped overland.

The COP offers coverage during the entire life cycle of a product (during the manufacturing process and through shipment), making it appealing to customers because it avoids any coverage gaps. It also allows the insurer to offer a better price than if the client purchased the property policy and inland marine policy separately.
