Cats And Dogs

Aside from being two of the most beloved pets (just edging out ferrets and pot-belly pigs, in our opinion), “cats and dogs” refers to a colloquial way to say “out of the ordinary.” If it’s raining cats and dogs, it’s raining unusually hard (not actual pets).

Fun fact: the term actually comes from ancient Greek. The phrase likely comes from the Grecian term "cata doxa," which means “contrary to experience.”
