Association of Southeast Asian Nations - ASEAN

A kind of EU-like organization for countries in Southeast Asia and the island nations in the area roughly where the Pacific and Indian Oceans meet. It has 10 members, consisting of Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Brunei. The goal of ASEAN is to promote political and economic cooperation in the region.
It was founded in 1967 with five members and added most of its additional member states during the 1990s.
The organization even has a theme song, The ASEAN Way. Sample lyrics:
"Raise our flag high, sky high / Embrace the pride in our heart / ASEAN we are bonded as one."
