Editing

The process of editing requires that you read your full draft (hey, don't look at us—you wrote it) and check for the following things:

• Does the essay fulfill the assignment's requirements?
• Is the thesis focused, clear, and debatable? 
• Is the argument convincing, with sufficient support? Does it support the thesis? Or, are the descriptions focused and developed?
• Is the organization of all the elements clear?

After you're done editing, your first draft will (hopefully) turn into a stronger second draft that has better organization and stronger support. Sit by your phone and await a call from Simon & Schuster.
